This gallery has photos from a variety of camping and canoe trips around northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and Canada. My canoe trips were almost exclusively in the Boundary Watter Canoe Area of Minnesota and Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. Also, in this section are phots from road trips that took me to new hiking and camping opportunities. So, this gallery is really a look at the variety of outdoor adventures I've had.

| 1992 Quetico | A three week trip into Quetico with canoe partner Frank. It was a round trip adventure starting at Basswood Falls and circling through Elk, Darky, William, Brent, McIntyre, Robinson and Kett Lakes back to Basswood. | ||||
1995 Western Road Trip |
A roughly three week trip that took me to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks then on to the Black Hills of South Dakota and Badlands NP. The really fun thing about this trip was I stayed off Interstate highways. |

| 1996 Alaska | This was a dream vacation - nearly three weeks driving around Alaska in a rented Jeep in late summer. The tundra as alive with fall color, days were clear and pleasant, nights ideally cool. And, no bugs! | ||||
| 1999 Alpine Loop | While on a work trip I took a day to explore the Alpine Loop in the San Juan Mts outside of Silverton Colorado. The 4-wheel drive trail provided a mix of stunning beauty and challenging driving (at least for me). | ||||
| 1999 Quetico | A spring trip with long time canoe partner Frank - we traveled from Saganaga Lake, down the Falls Chain to Kawnipi then up Waiwag River to Mack Lake then over to Cullen, down to Saganagons and back to our starting point on Cache Bay. | ||||
Lake Superior North Shore |
One of my favorite vacation haunts over the years has been the North Shore of Lake Superior. The scenic beauty, number of Minnesota State Parks and hundreds of miles of hiking trails make this a favorite destination - especially in autumn. |

Nicolet National Forest, WI |
I have spent more time camping and hiking here than almost anywhere. It's a "local" gem. |
||||
| 2001 Death Valley | This was a side trip from Las Vegas where I spent three days exploring this marvelous desert environment - in "winter". | ||||
| 2006 Quetico | This was a seven day trip with my oldest nephew and his wife and my middle nephew. Taken in late September, the weather was a bit unsettled but not our spirits. | ||||
2007 Las Vegas |
An early October trip with visits to Valley of Fire State Park and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The weather was as beautiful as the rock formations. |
||||
2008 Black Hills |
Five days exploring the Hills and Custer State Park plus an overnight stop at Badlands National Park. |
